Bugcrowd empowers MSPs to meet growing demand for compliance-focused pen-testing

Cybersecurity platform Bugcrowd has unveiled a new penetration testing service designed specifically for managed service providers (MSPs), with a strong focus on helping small and midsize businesses (SMBs) meet growing compliance demands.

The new offering aims to address a rising backlog of compliance-related pen testing requirements across the SMB landscape. Bugcrowd says the program empowers MSPs to offer streamlined, cost-effective testing that meets regulatory standards without overextending their internal teams.

“Bugcrowd's new MSP offering is a game-changer for our partners and an important step for our program,” said Jacques Lopez, VP of Global Channel & Alliances at Bugcrowd. “By leveraging our crowdsourced streamlined-scope pen testing capabilities, MSPs can offer their clients fast, reliable, and cost-effective compliance testing.”

Streamlined security for a growing need

Bugcrowd’s crowdsourced testing platform taps into a global community of ethical hackers, allowing MSPs to deliver comprehensive pen testing across network infrastructure, APIs, mobile apps, and cloud configurations. Most engagements can be launched within three business days, the company said, giving partners and their clients a faster path to security validation and compliance.

The service uses a flat-rate pricing model and is initially available to a limited number of partners. It also offers flexible scope options based on client needs, making it easier for MSPs to scale their services and recognize revenue more quickly.

“This offering can augment the capabilities of those partners who already provide pen testing, enabling them to reserve their in-house pen testers for projects they are best suited for while Bugcrowd handles more routine projects,” Lopez added.

A Boost for small business security

Mitch Evans, Director of Cybersecurity Consulting at BARR Advisory, said the service comes at a critical time, especially for SMBs that are often under-resourced when it comes to cybersecurity.

“SMBs often struggle to employ the services they need to meet compliance requirements,” Evans said. “Bugcrowd’s service not only enhances our ability to deliver high-quality compliance testing to our clients but also helps us scale our operations and meet the growing demand for pen testing services.”

In addition to the core testing offering, MSPs can now resell other Bugcrowd services such as Bug Bounty programs, Vulnerability Disclosure Programs (VDPs), and Attack Surface Management.

The move marks a significant push by Bugcrowd to broaden its reach in the channel and reinforce its commitment to equipping MSPs with the tools needed to deliver top-tier cybersecurity solutions.
