N‑able launches global compliance initiatives amid growing regulatory requirements

N-able, a leading provider of remote monitoring and management (RMM) and data protection solutions for IT service providers (MSPs), is stepping up its commitment to cybersecurity compliance. The company has launched a series of initiatives designed to help MSPs adapt to increasingly stringent cybersecurity regulations.

These initiatives come as regulatory frameworks like the US Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 and the EU’s NIS2 directive grow more critical for businesses operating in regulated industries.

What This Means for Businesses

For businesses partnering with N-able, the updated compliance initiatives have clear benefits which include:

Enhanced cybersecurity standards: Businesses now benefit from N-able’s expanded security measures, like the adoption of federally approved encryption standards under the FIPS 140-3 protocol. This ensures sensitive data is protected by high-level encryption, helping businesses meet both domestic and international regulatory requirements.

Advanced compliance support: N-able’s compliance initiative includes support for CMMC 2.0 and NIST 800-171 standards, which are crucial for companies working with sensitive, unclassified information. This mapping of security requirements makes it easier for N-able’s partners to manage compliance without adding complex overhead to their operations.

Dedicated compliance expertise: The company has also introduced a Compliance Leadership Team, providing expert advice on navigating complex cybersecurity regulations. This team helps businesses understand which standards apply to them, how to meet those standards, and what steps to take to improve their overall cybersecurity posture.

Resource library and advisory council: N-able’s upcoming Compliance Resource Center will feature resources such as compliance checklists, expert blogs, and other helpful tools tailored for IT service providers. Additionally, the newly formed Global Compliance Advisory Council will give partners access to insights from compliance professionals.

Transparent security through audit logging: To further support compliance and best practices, N-able is rolling out enhanced audit logging capabilities, which allow businesses to track digital asset changes and user login activity. This improvement aligns with the CISA Secure by Design Pledge, ensuring transparency and accountability in data handling practices.

“Compliance isn’t about ticking a box—it’s about protecting businesses at every level,” said Dave MacKinnon, Chief Security Officer at N-able. “With a secure-by-design approach, we aim to make cybersecurity compliance more manageable for our partners and their clients, enhancing resilience across all channels and regions.”

By reinforcing compliance as a core value, N-able’s latest initiatives provide businesses and IT service providers with the resources and expertise to navigate the complex regulatory landscape and boost resilience against cyber threats.
