SailPoint brings enterprise-grade identity security to smaller businesses with expanded MSP program

Tech Journalist

SailPoint, a leading provider of enterprise identity security solutions, has announced a significant expansion of its Managed Service Provider (MSP) program, now extending its reach to smaller enterprises. This move aims to democratize access to advanced identity security, addressing the rising threat of sophisticated attacks targeting vulnerable identities.

Launched initially in February 2024, SailPoint's MSP program was designed to empower partners to deliver its Identity Security Cloud offering. The recent refresh broadens its scope, enabling smaller organizations to onboard with entry-level use cases and scale their capabilities as they grow.

"Expanding our offerings through our partners allows us to make our identity security solutions accessible to even more businesses, including smaller enterprises," stated Dave Schwartz, SailPoint’s senior vice president of global partners. This expansion comes at a critical time, as cybercriminals increasingly target exposed and vulnerable identities with increasingly complex attacks.

Unlike some providers that offer limited functionality to smaller businesses, SailPoint is committed to providing a comprehensive solution. "While some providers opt to offer basic functionality without including a path to long-term success, we believe this is a mistake," Schwartz explained. "SailPoint’s MSP partners can provide MSP customers with the same foundational identity security capabilities that it offers other customers while also setting them up to grow the maturity of their identity program over time."

The program, powered by the SailPoint Atlas platform, offers a unified identity security solution, ensuring that companies of all sizes have access to the same robust capabilities. This approach includes ongoing consultation and support, allowing customers to focus on their core business operations while their identity security is expertly managed.

"Powered by the same SailPoint Atlas platform, we provide a unified identity security solution for an easy and accessible on-ramp to long-term identity security success, wrapped in the offerings our MSP partners will build on SailPoint," Schwartz continued. "This will include consultation and management of their deployment, allowing the customer to focus on what’s important to them: running their business."

SailPoint partner Simeio sees the expansion as a significant growth opportunity. "The decision to invest in securing organizations of all sizes will allow MSP partners like Simeio to expand into new business areas and could help organizations across a wider range of industries to improve their overall security posture," said Ron Mechling, chief sales officer at Simeio.

By extending its MSP program, SailPoint is not only broadening its market reach but also empowering smaller enterprises to strengthen their security posture in an increasingly challenging threat landscape. This move demonstrates SailPoint's commitment to making enterprise-grade identity security accessible to businesses of all sizes, fostering a more secure digital ecosystem.
