Salesforce pledges $4 billion investment in UK business over the next five years
The renowned CRM specialist, Salesforce, has announced its ambitious plan to invest $4 billion in UK operations over the next five years. This investment comes as Salesforce experiences rapid growth in the UK, driven by companies investing in digital transformations and capitalising on the remarkable innovation cycle surrounding artificial intelligence.
It builds upon a five-year investment of $2.5 billion, declared in 2018. This substantial investment reaffirms Salesforce's commitment to the UK market, aiming to foster innovation and support its expanding customer base.
The UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, expressed his enthusiasm for Salesforce's investment, stating, "Salesforce's major investment in its UK business over the next five years is a ringing endorsement of our economy.
It will strengthen the company's UK presence, increase capacity, and create vital jobs, reinforcing our position as one of their largest markets outside of the US. This investment sits alongside my key priority to grow the economy and pledge to make the UK the best place in the world to start, grow, and invest in tech businesses."
Marc Benioff, Chairman and CEO of Salesforce, highlighted the company's commitment to the UK, saying, "This significant investment builds on our long-standing commitment to the UK. The UK is home to some of the world's most incredible, innovative companies, and we're thrilled to work with them to drive the next wave of digital transformation in this new AI era."
Zahra Bahrololoumi, CEO of Salesforce UKI, emphasised the UK's position as an essential global tech hub entering a new era of fast-paced innovation led by generative AI. She sees this as a golden opportunity for the UK to unlock lasting economic value and solidify its status as a technology leader. Bahrololoumi emphasized the importance of a pro-innovation regulatory framework that ensures AI's safe and responsible use. Salesforce is fully committed to bringing secure, trusted, and enterprise-ready generative AI to businesses in the UK.
With this substantial investment, Salesforce aims to strengthen its foothold in the UK market, drive innovation, and contribute to the economy's growth. The company's focus on the UK reflects its recognition of the country's potential and its desire to collaborate with visionary companies in propelling the next phase of digital transformation in the era of artificial intelligence.
